Have you ever met an angel? I did today. Travelling across country through a series of ice storms and blizzards my nervous system is admittedly worn thin. Last night I thought my serpentine belt was going out and I cut my journey short and ended up in Ontario, OR a nervous wreck. Today I called every mechanic within 50 miles of me and no one was able to offer me any help...except Pete. Not only did Pete talk with me over the phone to get all of the details, he actually drove to where my motel is, inspected my car, went on a 30 minute test drive and talked me through what he thought it could be (nothing major). He left without charging me but told me to be safe and to get to where I was going and you could tell he meant it. My nervous system wanted to hug him. Super helpful, informative, kind and witty. Serious dad vibes. All around Ace of a human. Super honest and real. I appreciate and respect his desire to serve people. He won't jerk you around and take your money.
If I lived here in Ontario, I'd want Pete for my mechanic. And i'd invite him to Thanksgiving as well. 10/10Sara R.
So check this out. My adult kids take their 09 Corolla to this dude cause he said he would replace tranny for 1000 out the door! (Used tranny). I checked it out for them but Over my head but I didn’t think the tranny was bad. So they go to pick it up and this dude informs them that there is nothing wrong with the tranny just needed tweaked and cleaned. WOW not only did this guy cost himself money and save my kids cash he will have the car done this week. Unbelievable service. Thanks man I don’t even know your name

We were passing through Fruitland from Boise for a Saturday biking adventure. Upon stopping at the first stop light, our car started to sputter and stalled. I quickly googled the nearest repair shop and Pete said come on by. He quickly diagnosed the problem, sent in an order for the part which arrived 10 minutes later. As he was doing the repair, he explained the function of this part and showed us how it had become clogged and the reason our car was stalling. He was incredibly friendly and by far the most honest auto repair guy we have ever encountered. His price for the repair was very reasonable and we quite honestly would consider driving all the way to Fruitland the next time any of our cars need major repair work.

Our car broke down on us as the family and I were traveling through Oregon to visit family for the holidays. I had no idea what was wrong as the wife and I began calling frantically to get help. I saw that American Apex Auto had several great reviews online and called. Pete answered and even though it was getting close to closing time advised me to have the vehicle brought to his shop and he would take a look at it. This was the best decision I could have made in this uncertain time. The tow truck, who is NOT affiliated with Pete and American Apex, took me for a ride and charged a couple hundred to tow us less than a mile. Pete came out and took a look at the vehicle. He was polite and friendly and after listening to my story said he had some ideas. He offered to give my family and I a ride to a hotel if that was the plan. But he suggested I wait until he tried a couple things to save us money on a room. Pete went to work and within 20 mins had our car back up and running. The issue was a bone headed thing I should have know to check for but he never made me feel stupid and instead spent time showing me what I can do in the future if I have the issue again. Finally came payment. I figured since the tow truck had already dinged me(again, not affiliated with American Apex), I was not sure what to expect. Pete teased me a little about the bill and then finally gave me the actual bill. The man is more than fair. A little too fair. I felt guilty but grateful. Pete took time out of his busy day to get me and my family back on the road. I would strongly suggest anyone with automotive issues take their vehicles to Pete at American Apex Auto.
